From 8 to 11 August, 2010, Novosibirsk received District 5010 Governor Jane Little. During her visits to Rotary clubs of Novosibirsk several important issues were raised, including possible redistricting of Russian part of the District and future of potential independent Russian District.

Representatives of Rotary and Rotaract clubs "Novosibirsk-Initiative" took part at SIM – Siberian International Marathon in Omsk together with Representatives of Rotary and Rotaract clubs "Omsk-Dostoevsky" and inmates of special school for deaf children. After that a picnic was organised, where everyone got a special prize for the competition. At the same time a charity campaign on selling balloons "I’ve done a good deed" was carried out. All money raised during this event will be spent on medical treatment for a boy with kidney failure.

Members of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" organised a special sea holiday for the inmates of Moshkovo orphanage. At first children had an excursion to the botanical garden, and then they spent a whole day at the sea in the company of Rotarians, played games and had a wonderful barbecue.

Eight representatives of Rotaract club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" visited XI Forum of Rotary Youth that lasted 5 days in Chita. In agenda of the Forum there were a lot of seminars, meetings with well-known speakers, members of Chita Rotary club and with District 5010 Governor Jane Little.

Three representatives of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" visited the orphanage in Ojash, where together with "Sun city" fund we organized a sports ground for children. We invested 60 000 rubles in this project, part of which our club received from District Simplified grant. Administration of the orphanage was very grateful to all members of our Rotary club.

Congratulations on New Rotary Year! In the year 2010-2011 officers of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" are: President - Oksana Moiseeva, President-elect - Alexey Shpikelman, Secretary - Olga Murzina, Treasure - Michael Kunitsyn, Sergeant-at-Arms - Alexey Sukhorukov, Secretary executive - Anastasia Gurnovich.

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" organised a welcome reception and accommodation for biker-traveler from Great Britain. On the 28th of June a press-conference was held, where he told a lot about his experience traveling around the world.

Rotary and Rotaract clubs "Novosibirsk-Initiative" organized and implemented annual charity campaign on selling balloons "I've done a good deed". It was timed to a Day of the City that was celebrated in Novosibirsk. At this time the money raised will be spent on a celebration with inmates of Moshkovo orphanage, who are now in the children camp. Net profit made up to 7 591 rubles.

At Rotarian District Conference a pin and medal of Paul Harris Fellow was presented to the Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" president 2009-2010 Peter Smirenko. Our congratulation with well-deserved reward!

Representatives of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" visited Rotarian District Conference that took place at Vladivostok this year. The results of the Conference are the following: Alexander Molodin – Assistant Governor, Peter Smirenko – Governor Deputy, Michael Kunitsyn – secretary of Russian part of the District. Our congratulations with new positions!

At the beginning of June Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" received a GSE group from Florida, USA. The team consisted of 4 people (1 Rotarian and 3 non-Rotarians representing different industries). They had a city tour, visited meetings of all three Rotary clubs of Novosibirsk and had professional days, organised by our club.

Funds that were received by Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" from District Simplified grant were used by the club on purchase and installation of equipment for physiotherapy at orphanage #6. Earlier our Rotary club bought and installed here 6 bunk-beds at the boys' section.

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" together with "Voshozhdenie" foundation with the support of Pilot plant organised a celebration for inmates of orphanage in Cherepanovo. Active young people from foundation, animators, clown, Rotarians and artists together with children from orphanage were painting a fence. Brushes, paint and fruit-paste sweets that we brought were really appropriate.

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" and "Nestle" company carried out a charity campaign on distributing fruit-paste sweets and caramel "Nestle" to the orphanages of Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk region. The amount of products distributed made up to about 2 thousand boxes of sweets, which in monetary terms totals 2 million rubles.

Last August Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" launched a campaign to raise money for Vova Bobrovsky treatment. His is suffering from infantile cerebral paralysis. Recently he had an operation, after which he feels much better. Now he has classes with speech therapist and develops motor functions. However such treatment also requires money. At the regular Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" meeting the sum of 16 thousand rubles, which was collected via PinPay system, was granted to Vova's grandmother.

On the 5-6 of May 2010 a SERVE conference took place in Novosibirsk. It was devoted to the leadership and business development issues. Representatives of Chick-fil-A company shared their experience in fast food restaurant business with the youth of Novosibirsk as well as with the entrepreneurs. Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" was one of the main organizers of the event. All profit from the conference will be spent on little girl's Ulia treatment (valvular defect).

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" received guests from Australia - Bill and Heidi Doran. Our club president Peter Smirenko organized a city-tour for them and familiarized them with the work of Russian Post office. After that a couple from Australia had a lunch with "Novosibirsk-Centre" Rotary club.

On April, 16-17, an All-Russian Students Conference on tolerance, racism and xenophobia took place in Novosibirsk. It was organized by Rotaract club "Novosibirsk-Initiative". The work during the Conference was divided into two sections: scientific (reports of participants, experts' comments) and practical (seminars and trainings from HGOs and nonprofit organizations). Students from 8 cities of Russia took part in the Conference.

By tradition Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" took part in III Rotary Ñharity Festival of Children's and Youth Creativity "Planet of friends", that was held in Omsk from 26 to 28 March 2010. Apart from that Rotary club sent several participants to the Festival - Evgeny Golun (orphanage #12), Dmitry Zorin (orphanage #4) and trio of visually impaired children from center "Integration". All of the participants got an unforgettable experience and look forward to meet next year.

Members of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" led by current club president Peter Smirenko visited two-day PETS at Tomsk that took place on 26-27 of March 2010. President-elect training seminar was conducted by Jane Little District 5010 Governor for the year 2010-2011 with the support of current District Governor Bill Hopper and Governor-nominee Ted Trueblood. One of the important events was election of Michael Kunitsyn as the secretary of Russian part of District 5010. Congratulations!

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" carried out a charitable party "Give hope", where Rotarians from clubs of Novosibirsk, their relatives and friends took part. As a result of the party more than 25, 000 rubles were raised. All the money will be spend on operation for a little girl Tanya from boarding school #152 with a squint. As usual during such events of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" there were a lot of funny competitions, bright performances, disco and other interesting things.

The second annual soccer championship for the inmates of orphanages was organised and carried out by Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" on February 7, 2010. This time 8 teams took part in the Championship, each including 6 inmates of orphanages at the age of 10 to 14. Traditionally the main prize of the Tournament was the Cup of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative", which was presented to the winners - team of orphanage #6. However there were no losers: soccer gave everyone only positive emotions, supply of energy and new friends.
