A sightseeing tour around the city for the children living in the Oblast areas
The Club has organized a one-day tour around Novosibirsk for children living in the remote village. In such a way A and B pupils have been rewarded for their progress in school studies.

Action "Open Heart-2"
| The project idea: |
All the club's members have got scores of good and close friends who are able and eager to provide immediate help and assistance to a certain child. At the same time the traditional ways of funds raising are often considered too "unclear" and depersonalized as a rule. Potential philanthropists are kept on the alert at the mention of the names of conventional charitable organizations because of scandals connected either with holding dubious lotteries or with customs laws infringement. On the other hand, commonly held acts of charity are often too pompous or on the contrary, too tearful and gloomy.
The Club has come to a decision to organize a "no tears but fun" charitable disco party in a nightclub with a lively show, competitions and smorgasbord. The cost of invitation cards would be deliberately higher than that of usual entrance tickets to a nightclub, but there would be only good and close friends of the Club's members invited to the party. Thus, there is a chance to raise some money and have great time in the circle of like-minded people and friends.

66 invitation cards were sold by the Club's members that allowed collecting 65500 rubles.
After the welcoming speech made by the President of Rotary Club "Novosibirsk Initiative" Denis Sokolov the exciting show was started. Music, dancing and a variety of competitions made for creating a unique atmosphere at the party. On the one hand it was indeed an unforgettable and relaxing atmosphere of friendship, but on the other hand, it was a truly private and elite party that was the most exciting moment of the action by all accounts.
There was a charity auction during the disco party. A T-shirt and an umbrella with "Open Heart" symbol were sold by auction. The award for the most considerable contribution into the project was also presented. 5900 rubles was raised during the auction.
Prime cost of the party including the show, the smorgasbord and the prizes was 30937 rubles.
As a result the Club managed to raise 40463 rubles under the project.

2nd stage: "Oncohematologic center - Roma Phinashin"

To provide support to Roma Phinashin, born in 1992, to undergo a course of medical treatment and rehabilitation. |
| Prehistory: |
Roma's diagnose was sarcoma of the upper third of the right leg shin-bone in December, 2005. The endoprosthesis replacement was done in the clinic in Munich (Germany) on March, 28 2006. The operation cost was 24000 EUR. Roma's parents had sold their apartment to have the operation done and they are staying at their elderly grandparents'. |

There was the action "Open heart-2" - the charity disco party with an auction on May, 20 2006 to finance the project. The funds raised - 40463 rubles.
The money collected was spent on purchasing the reagent to define the concentration of metatrixat (a chemotherapy drug) in the blood. This procedure is extremely important for fast and controlled excretion of this drug being actually poison. In spite of the Oblastnay Hospital having all necessary equipment to conduct similar diagnostics, such procedures have not been done and excretion has been done on the grounds of calculations. The reagent purchased by the Club will allow conducting 100 tests to serve the needs of the Center of Oncology and Hematology for two years.
Roma had the second stage of his chemotherapy course under control and with the reagent purchased in August 2006. The cost of reagent and complete diagnostics set was 840 USD (21330 rubles).
In August 2006 Roma with his mum was referred to the clinic in Munich to see if there was a clavus on the spot of prosthesis. The Club paid a part of the treatment cost (20 000 rubles).
Finally, the Club established contacts with the Rotary Club of Munich. One of the Munich Club's members turned out the owner of the hotel in Munich. She was glad to offer the Phinashins a double room to stay at her hotel during the whole period of Roma's treatment. |
